Melancholy Tune (original song)

This is a live performance of me with just my guitar (a red Parker Fly Delux) singing a new song I wrote recently called “Melancholy Tune”. I hope you like it. Please rate it, fav it, let me know what you think and subscribe if you want to. I got more coming soon.
Melancholy Tune
(by Eric Garner)
Just a tragedy in a suit
Like a cavity that
needs a root canal
Just to make all the pain
go away permanently
As I drive myself into work
I try not to be a jerk about
The conversation
we’re bound to have
eventually
If you wanted out, I’d understand
Things don’t always go as planned
And no, I am not about to cry
I just have something in my eye
To avoid a slap to the face
I calculate a mishap to replace
the truth rhat we both
seem to hide away
in the back of our minds
As I shave the stubble from my chin
I can feel the trouble stir within your eyes as they glance away
from my reflection
so I cannot read the signs
If you wanted out, I’d understand
Things don’t always go as planned
And no, I am not about to cry
I just have something in my eye
We’ve been together for so many years
Seems like forever without any tears to show for it and I can’t believe
that we might change
that statistic soon
But I’m a big believer in fate
I just hope that it’s not too late
to change the melody
of this melancholy tune
If you wanted out, I’d understand
Things don’t always go as planned
And I know you’re not about to cry
You just have something in you eye
I know you’re not about to cry
You must have something in your eye
